As I'm sure you've noticed, I haven't exactly been around much. Things have been a little crazy, to say the least. My husband finally got the gastric bypass he had been preparing for during the last 6mos. It went well, or so it seemed. About 2wks after surgery, he developed a complication that happens in about 10-15% of patients. It resulted in severe dehydration, an ambulance ride, a 7day hospitalization and a G-tube that he will have for another couple of months. (I came frighteningly close to losing him that day.) Then, less than a week later we had a little scare that resulted in regular nurses visits to our home for another small complication. I've spent the last few months as a fulltime caregiver and all of the beady stuff has been on hold.
Hopefully, the worst has passed us now. Slowly but surely we are returning to a more normal existence and a better life.
